SOCIAL SUPPORT Social Support services refer to assistance provided by a companion (volunteer), either within the home environment or while a person is accessing community services or facilities.The service is primarily directed towards meeting the person’s need for social contact and/or accompaniment in order to participate in community life. These services may include: One to one support to attend a social activity of the client’s choiceSharing an interest with a small group of people, supported by volunteersMinor home maintenance e.g. changing light globesFriendly visitingLetter writing on your behalfShopping, bill paying and banking where the client is accompanied by the workerMen’s Group outings once a month to venues that interest our male clientsGroup outings to local points of entertainment.
