Through our programs, we support thousands of clients to remain living safely and independently in their home.

Our Pride in Health + Wellbeing activities contribute to the wellbeing of ADSSI’s LGBTI clients and staff through the ongoing provision of safe and inclusive services.

Aged & Disability Community Support Workers

Come and join our high energy not for profit organisation whose goal is to make a real and practical difference in the lives of people in our community. We are building our team of Community Support Workers who can work safely in our clients’ homes across our region.
Are you a creative ‘can do’ person who thrives on delivering the best client experience every time? You will be client focused, have an understanding of the aged care and disability sectors and their reforms, and be highly motivated to succeed in the role. If you are passionate/experienced in working with older people or people with a disability, this is an exciting career opportunity.
You will need:
- Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Aged Care or Disability (or equivalent);
- An 'Apply First Aid' Certificate;
- A current NSW driver’s license and a safe driving record;
- A current Criminal History Check;
- A current Working with Children Check;
- The use of a reliable well-presented vehicle that has comprehensive insurance cover;
- To be available to work a flexible roster;
- To be competent in the use of smart phones and mobile technology such as tablet devices.

The contract is until June 2022 and the pay starts at $23.32 per hour. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an aged care part exclusion police check and a medical assessment. The information pack will help with further information on police checks.
The 2018 staff survey, undertaken through Voice Project, had a 93% response rate. The Passion and Engagement score (the positive attitudes and emotions that contribute to employee retention and productivity) is outstanding at 93%. This is 13% higher than the aged care benchmark. The Progress score (staff perceptions about organisational performance) is significantly higher than the aged care benchmark: at 92% it is 18% higher than the benchmark. ADSSI Limited has a strong approach from the staff all the way to the Board that communication and follow through are our keys to high engagement levels and commitment to Vision, Purpose and Values.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo an aged care part exclusion police check and a medical assessment. People with criminal records are not automatically barred from applying for this position. Each application will be considered on its merits. The criminal offences that preclude a person from working in aged care are:
- a conviction for murder or sexual assault; or
- a conviction of, and sentence to imprisonment for, any other form of assault.
Any person with a conviction for a precluding offence must not be employed, contracted, hired, retained, or accepted by an aged care service subsidised by the Commonwealth.
